Flumioxazin is found in its biological sources and is used for pre-emergence control of dicotyledonous weeds in soybean and peanut. Flumioxazin inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase, blocking chlorophyll and heme biosynthesis, leading to protoporphyrin IX accumulation, oxidative stress, membrane damage, and cell death.
