Biological Activity: (Rac)-Azide-phenylalanine is a racemate of Azide-phenylalanine. Azide-phenylalanine is a phenylalanine derivative and a non-natural amino acid. Azide-phenylalanine can be site-specifically incorporated into proteins and used to label proteins[1]. (Rac)-Azide-phenylalanine is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
