Biological Activity: Anti-inflammatory agent 56 (Compound 9) is a selective COX-2 inhibitor (IC50: 0.54 μM). Anti-inflammatory agent 56 has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Anti-inflammatory agent 56 inhibits oxidative stress induced cell death. Anti-inflammatory agent 56 inhibits oxidative stress and neuroinflammation by inhibiting Keap1, COX-2 and iNOS. Anti-inflammatory agent 56 has low acute toxicity in mice (LD50: 1000 mg/kg)[1].
