Calphostin I

Calphostin I is a selective protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor with an IC₅₀ of 0.14 μM in rats. Calphostin I potently and selectively inhibits partially purified rat brain PKC with an IC₅₀ of 0.14 μM, and does not inhibit partially purified bovine heart PKA at concentrations up to 50 μM^[1].
Calphostin I (1 h) inhibits the growth of human cervical cancer HeLa S₃ cells with an IC₅₀ of 0.24 μM and human breast cancer MCF-7 cells with an IC₅₀ of 0.16 μM in vitro^[1].
