Pentopril (CGS 13945) is an orally active angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Pentopril is hydrolyzed by esterases in vivo to form an active ACE inhibitor metabolite. Pentopril can be used in the research of hypertension and congestive heart failure.
