N2-Succinyl-L-ornithine
N2-Succinyl-L-ornithine is a metabolic intermediate and also a substrate of N2-acetylornithine 5-aminotransferase (EC 2.6.1.11). N2-Succinyl-L-ornithine acts as a precursor of Pyruvic acid (HY-Y0781) and supports the biosynthesis of α-solanine (HY-N6602) via the MEP/DOXP pathway. N2-Succinyl-L-ornithine is applicable to research related to IgA vasculitis and intestinal pathogen infections.

Biological Activity
N2-Succinyl-L-ornithine (1.4 mM) is efficiently transaminated by purified N2-acetylornithine 5-aminotransferase from Pseudomonas aeruginosa with an apparent Km of 1.4 mM, supporting its role in arginine catabolism[1].
N2-Succinyl-L-ornithine (5 mM) is converted to N-succinylglutamate 5-semialdehyde via transamination by AcOAT, and crude extracts of Pseudomonas aeruginosa contain N-succinylglutamate 5-semialdehyde dehydrogenase that acts on this product to generate N-succinylglutamate[1].
N2-Succinyl-L-ornithine accumulates in resting Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 cells treated with 10 mM Aminooxyacetate (Aminoxyacetic acid) (HY-107994A) from [U-14C]-arginine, confirming it as an intermediate in the succinyltransferase arginine catabolic pathway[1].
