Cyanidin 5-O-glucoside is an anthocyanidin glycoside that can be isolated from Rubus chingii Hu^[1].

In Vitro

Glycosides are acetal-type derivatives formed through a dehydration reaction between the hemiacetal hydroxyl group of a monosaccharide and the hydroxyl group of an alcohol or phenol. They are widely distributed throughout the plant kingdom; for instance, traditional Chinese medicinal herbs such as Plantago (Cheqian), Licorice (Gancao), and Dried Tangerine Peel (Chenpi) are all substances containing glycosides.
