ADH4 Protein, Human

Cat. No.: HY-P701926
Handling Instructions

ADH4 Protein, an enzyme, is involved in the metabolism of alcohol and other toxic compounds. Dysregulation of ADH4 Protein has been linked to alcohol-induced liver damage and susceptibility to certain diseases. Targeting ADH4 Protein may offer potential therapeutic interventions by modulating alcohol metabolism, protecting against liver damage, and reducing disease risk. ADH4 Protein, Human is the recombinant human-derived ADH4 protein, expressed by E. coli , with tag free. The total length of ADH4 Protein, Human is 380 a.a., .

Background

The ADH4 protein exhibits catalytic activity dependent on NAD, enabling the oxidation of either all-trans-retinol or 9-cis-retinol. Additionally, it has been observed to oxidize long chain omega-hydroxy fatty acids, including 20-HETE, resulting in the production of both the intermediate aldehyde, 20-oxoarachidonate, and the end product, a dicarboxylic acid known as (5Z,8Z,11Z,14Z)-eicosatetraenedioate. Furthermore, ADH4 protein is involved in the reduction of benzoquinones.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
