Background
DPEP3 lacks dipeptidase activity and cannot hydrolyze cystinyl-bis-glycine, leukotriene D4, or the β-lactam antibiotic imipenem. The absence of activity may result from asparagine (instead of aspartate in DPEP1/2) at position 359 being unable to function as an acid/base catalyst to activate the nucleophilic water/hydroxide. Additionally, tyrosine (instead of histidine) at position 269 reduces affinity for the β-zinc and may cause substrate steric hindrance. by similar: These findings are supported by data from PubMed:32325220.
Verified Bioactivity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Human DPEP3 at 2 μg/mL can bind Anti-DPEP3 recombinant antibody .The EC50 is 3.689-7.498 ng/mL.
