Biological Activity

Description

Dynamitin (DCTN2) Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Dynamitin (DCTN2), expressed by HEK293 , with C-10*His labeled tag.

Background

Dynamitin (DCTN2) is a component of the dynactin complex that activates the molecular motor dynein for ultra-processive transport along microtubules. Within the dynactin shoulder domain, it binds the ACTR1A filament and functions as a molecular ruler to determine filament length (By similarity). It modulates cytoplasmic dynein binding to organelles and contributes to prometaphase chromosome alignment and spindle organization during mitosis. Additionally, it is involved in anchoring microtubules to centrosomes and may play a role in synapse formation during brain development (By similarity).

Product Properties

Appearance

Lyophilized powder.

Formulation

Lyophilized from a 0.22 μm filtered solution of 25 mM Tris-HCl, 100 mM Glycine, pH 7.3, 10% glycerol.
Note: For SPR assay, please replace the buffer. Primary amine components (e.g., Tris, imidazole) can affect protein-coupled chips.

Endotoxin Level

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Storage & Stability

Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Shipping

Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.
