FOLR2 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
FOLR2 Protein, crucial for binding folate and its derivatives, facilitates their transport into cells with notable affinity under neutral pH. Upon endocytosis and exposure to slightly acidic pH, FOLR2 undergoes a conformational change, significantly reducing its affinity for folates and releasing them from the receptor, similar to other proteins. FOLR2 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived FOLR2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.
- Species: Mouse
- Source: HEK293

Storage:Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Description

Upon endocytosis and exposure to slightly acidic pH, FOLR2 undergoes a conformational change, significantly reducing its affinity for folates and releasing them from the receptor, similar to other proteins. FOLR2 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived FOLR2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.
Background
The FOLR2 protein plays a pivotal role in binding to folate and reduced folic acid derivatives, facilitating the transport of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate and folate analogs into the intracellular space. It exhibits a remarkable affinity for folate and folic acid analogs under neutral pH conditions. However, upon receptor endocytosis, exposure to a slightly acidic pH induces a conformational change in FOLR2, leading to a substantial reduction in its affinity for folates and subsequent release from the receptor, as observed in similar proteins.
