MXRA8 Protein, Human (HEK293, His)

Customer Review

Based on 1 Customer Validation

The MXRA8 protein is a transmembrane regulator that may interact with the integrin ITGAV:ITGB3 to affect various signaling pathways. It inhibits osteoclastogenesis, promotes chondrogenesis, and stimulates the formation of primary cilia in chondrocytes. MXRA8 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived MXRA8 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Biological Activity

Description

The MXRA8 protein is a transmembrane regulator that may interact with the integrin ITGAV:ITGB3 to affect various signaling pathways. It inhibits osteoclastogenesis, promotes chondrogenesis, and stimulates the formation of primary cilia in chondrocytes. MXRA8 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived MXRA8 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Background

MXRA8, a transmembrane protein, exerts its regulatory influence on various signaling pathways, likely through interaction with integrin ITGAV:ITGB3. This interaction facilitates heterophilic cell-cell interactions and modulates osteoclastogenesis downstream of TNFSF11/RANKL and CSF1, potentially by dampening signaling via integrin ITGB3 and MAP kinase p38. In the context of cartilage formation, MXRA8 promotes the proliferation and maturation of growth plate chondrocytes, stimulates primary cilia formation, and enhances the expression of hedgehog signaling pathway genes, including IHH. Furthermore, MXRA8 plays a role in angiogenesis by suppressing endothelial cell migration, promoting apoptosis, and inhibiting VEGF-induced activation of AKT and p38 MAP kinase. Additionally, MXRA8 inhibits integrin ITGAV:ITGB3 signaling and PTK2/FAK activation in response to VTN. It may also contribute to the maturation and maintenance of the blood-brain barrier. In the context of microbial infection, MXRA8 serves as a receptor for arthritogenic alphaviruses, contributing to their pathogenesis.
