Biological Activity
Description
MYC Protein, Human (C-His) is the recombinant human-derived MYC protein, expressed by E. coli, with C-6*His tag.
Background
C-MYC is a transcription factor that binds DNA non-specifically while also recognizing the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. It activates the transcription of growth-related genes and binds to the VEGFA promoter to promote VEGFA production and sprouting angiogenesis. As a regulator of somatic reprogramming, it controls the self-renewal of embryonic stem cells (by similar). It functions with TAF6L to activate target gene expression through RNA polymerase II pause release (by similar). Additionally, it positively regulates the transcription of HNRNPA1, HNRNPA2, and PTBP1, which modulate the splicing of pyruvate kinase PKM by repressing exon 9 inclusion, leading to exon 10 inclusion and the production of the PKM M2 isoform.
