Biological Activity
Description
OBFC1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived OBFC1 protein, expressed by E. coli, with N-6*His labeled tag.
Background
Components of the CST complex are thought to be special replicators that promote DNA replication under natural replication disorder conditions such as replication stress or telomere duplex. The CST complex binds high-affinity single-stranded DNA in a sequence-independent manner, while the isolated subunits bind low-affinity DNA on their own. The CST complex protects telomeres from DNA degradation, inhibits telomerase and participates in telomere length homeostasis. The CST complex can bind to the newly synthesized 3 'suspension of telomerase and terminate the action of telomerase associated with the ACD: POT1 complex, thereby interfering with its telomerase-stimulating activity. The CST complex is also thought to be involved in the filling synthesis of the telomere C chain. The expression of OBFC1 gene is associated with tumor[1][2][3][4][5][6].
