Sulfo-TAG NHS ester disodium is an N-hydroxysuccinimide ester that can be coupled to proteins via primary amine groups. Sulfo-TAG NHS ester disodium can be used for antibody labeling[1].

In Vitro

Guide (The following are our recommended protocols. This protocol is only a guideline and should be modified according to your specific needs).
Antibody Labeling Procedure[2]
1. For lyophilized antibodies, reconstitute with PBS buffer; for antibodies in solution, replace the antibody with PBS buffer at pH 7.9 using a Zeba desalting column with a molecular weight cutoff of 7000 Daltons.
2. Determine the antibody concentration.
3. Add 3 nmol/μL of Sulfo-Tag NHS-Ester to the antibody and mix at room temperature in the dark for 2 h.
4. Replace the antibody with PBS buffer at pH 7.4/0.05% sodium azide using a Zeba desalting column.
5. Measure the absorbance of the protein conjugate at 455 nm using a NanoDrop.

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
