Description

1-[(4-Nitrophenyl) methyl]-1,4-diazepane (1-(4-Nitrobenzyl)-1,4-diazepane) is an anti-biofilm agent. 1-[(4-Nitrophenyl) methyl]-1,4-diazepane reduces biofilm formation in Escherichia coli. 1-[(4-Nitrophenyl) methyl]-1,4-diazepane is used for the research of Escherichia coli biofilm-related infections[1].

In Vitro

1-[(4-Nitrophenyl) methyl]-1,4-diazepane (Compound 2) exhibits a minimum inhibitory concentration of 1600 μg/mL against Escherichia coli K-12[1].
1-[(4-Nitrophenyl) methyl]-1,4-diazepane (3-200 μg/mL) significantly reduces biofilm formation by Escherichia coli K-12 by 29% when administered alone at 200 μg/mL, while it exerts no significant effect at 3 μg/mL[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
