3-O-Octadecyl-sn-glycerol serves as a lipid-linked scaffold for the synthesis of the antiviral bimolecular conjugate AZT-lipid-PFA. This conjugate can be enzymatically hydrolyzed to generate a variety of antiviral metabolites, exerting additive or synergistic antiviral effects[1].
3-O-Octadecyl-sn-glycerol acts as enantiopure reference substrate to test lipase stereoselectivity via chiral HPLC analysis of 3,5-dinitrophenylurethane derivatives, and helps confirm reversible organic solvent inhibition of lipase esterification catalysis[1].
