DDB1

DNA damage-binding protein 1

DNA Damage Binding Protein-1 (DDB1) is a protein, which is both involved in DNA repair and protein ubiquitination, as part of the UV-DDB complex and DCX (DDB1-CUL4-X-box) complexes, respectively. The ubiquitin–proteasome system is a significant pathway that precisely governs protein stability. Among the Cullin-RING Ligase (CRL) family, a typical CRL4 ligase is composed of a scaffold Cullin (CUL4A or CUL4B) protein, a linker protein-DDB1, a substrate recognition adaptor (DCAF), and a ring protein with intrinsic E3 activity (RBX1 or RBX2).
