Background
-
Function
CD11c is an integrin α-chain protein, belonging to the integrin α subunit family. CD11c usually forms a heterodimer αXβ2 integrin with CD18 (Integrin β2, ITGB2). CD11c is one of the most commonly used dendritic cell (DC) markers in immunological research, but it is not actually expressed specifically by DCs; it is expressed in various myeloid immune cells.
