Background
Function:Plays a central role in cell adhesion in hematopoietic cells (PubMed:19234463, PubMed:26359933). Acts by activating the integrin beta-1-3 (ITGB1, ITGB2 and ITGB3) (By similarity). Required for integrin-mediated platelet adhesion and leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells (PubMed:19234460). Required for activation of integrin beta-2 (ITGB2) in polymorphonuclear granulocytes (PMNs) (By similarity)|Isoform 2 may act as a repressor of NF-kappa-B and apoptosis
Subcellular Localization:Cell projection, podosome
Expression:
Tissue_Specificity: Highly expressed in lymph node. Expressed in thymus, spleen and leukocytes. Weakly expressed in placenta, small intestine, stomach, testis and lung. Overexpressed in B-cell malignancies
Isoforms & Post-Translational Modification:Q86UX7 has two isomers: Q86UX7-1: 75953 Da (predicted); Q86UX7-2: 75430 Da (predicted).
Subunit:Interacts with ITGB1, ITGB2 and ITGB3 (via cytoplasmic tails)
Synonyms
KIND3; MIG-2; MIG2B; UNC112C; URP2; URP2SF

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
