Carboxyl methylstarch sodium
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Carboxyl methylstarch sodium is an anionic polymer prepared by carboxymethylation of starch, with properties of stability, thickening ability and film-forming capacity. Carboxyl methylstarch sodium exhibits metal adsorption activity and can remove copper ions and cadmium ions from aqueous solutions. Carboxyl methylstarch sodium can serve as a hydrophilic shell component for AIE-active luminescent polymer nanoprobes to achieve high water dispersibility. Carboxyl methylstarch sodium can bind to vancomycin without altering the in vitro antibacterial activity of vancomycin. Carboxyl methylstarch sodium possesses biodegradable, non-toxic and environmentally friendly characteristics. Carboxyl methylstarch sodium can be applied to relevant researches in various fields such as food, medicine and industry.

Biological Activity
Carboxyl methylstarch sodium enables the construction of TPE-CMS LPNs with AIE activity, yielding spherical nanoparticles with strong, photostable fluorescence properties and excellent water dispersibility. These nanoparticles exhibit outstanding biocompatibility with HepG2 cells, can be efficiently internalized, mainly accumulate in the cytoplasm, and maintain normal cell morphology[1].
Carboxymethyl starch sodium crosslinked is synthesized from 50%(w/w) aqueous Carboxymethyl starch sodium solution treated with 2 kGy electron beam irradiation, and it exhibits pH-dependent adsorption properties for copper ions and cadmium ions in aqueous solution[2].
Carboxyl methylstarch sodium can bind vancomycin, but does not significantly alter the in vitro antibacterial activity of vancomycin against clinical strains and ATCC reference strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis in Mueller Hinton agar[3].
