Biological Activity: Phaeocaulisin M is a guaiane-type sesquiterpene containing a novel 1,2-dioxolane-3-ol structure. Phaeocaulisin M inhibits LPS (HY-D1056)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 macrophages with an IC50 of 6.05 μM, and shows no significant cytotoxicity at the effective concentrations for inhibiting NO production. Phaeocaulisin M is found in the rhizomes of Curcuma phaeocaulis and can be used for research related to inflammatory responses[1].
