AURC Protein, Human (sf9, GST)
AURC is a key serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a critical regulatory role in mitosis as part of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), ensuring accurate chromosome alignment and segregation. It contributes to chromatin-induced microtubule stabilization and spindle assembly. AURC Protein, Human (sf9, GST) is the recombinant human-derived AURC protein, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with N-GST labeled tag.

Description
AURC is a key serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a critical regulatory role in mitosis as part of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), ensuring accurate chromosome alignment and segregation. It contributes to chromatin-induced microtubule stabilization and spindle assembly. AURC Protein, Human (sf9, GST) is the recombinant human-derived AURC protein, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with N-GST labeled tag.
Background
AURC, a serine/threonine-protein kinase, functions as a pivotal component of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), a critical regulator of mitosis. The CPC complex is indispensable at the centromere for ensuring accurate chromosome alignment and segregation, crucial for chromatin-induced microtubule stabilization and spindle assembly. In addition to its role in mitosis, AURC plays a role in meiosis, particularly in spermatogenesis. It shares redundant cellular functions with AURKB and can rescue an AURKB knockdown. Similar to AURKB, AURKC phosphorylates histone H3 at 'Ser-10' and 'Ser-28'. AURKC also phosphorylates CPC complex subunits BIRC5/survivin and INCENP, enhancing AURKC activity. Furthermore, AURC targets TACC1, a protein involved in cell division, by phosphorylating it at 'Ser-228'.
