B4GALT4 Protein, Human (HEK293, His)

B4GALT4 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) encodes a type II membrane protein with significant sequence similarity to other β1,4-galactosyltransferases. B4GALT4 mainly plays a role in glycolipid biosynthesis and has been recognized involving in cancer metastatic processes^[1][2].

Highly expression of B4GALT4 is linked to colorectal cancer metastasis and poor prognosis. B4Gal-T4 is an active UDPGal: βGlcNAcβ1,4Gal-transferase with specificity for glycolipid substrates; however, it does not catalyze glycosylation of several glycoprotein acceptors, which are good substrates for other β4Gal-transferases^[1][2].
