Description

BMPR1A/ALK-3 Protein, Human (HEK293, hFc) is the recombinant human-derived BMPR1A/ALK-3 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-hFc tag.

Background

BMPR1A is a transmembrane serine/threonine kinase that forms a receptor complex consisting of two type II and two type I receptors upon ligand binding. Type II receptors phosphorylate and activate type I receptors, which autophosphorylate and subsequently bind and activate SMAD transcriptional regulators. It serves as a receptor for BMP2, BMP4, GDF5, and GDF6, positively regulating chondrocyte differentiation through GDF5 interaction and mediating adipogenesis induction by GDF6. Additionally, it may promote HAMP expression, potentially via its interaction with BMP2 (By similarity).
