Calumenin Protein, Human (HEK293, His)

Customer Review

Based on 1 Customer Validation

Calumenin Protein, Human (HEK293, His), a recombinant human Calumenin produced in HEK293 cells, has a His tag at the N-terminus. Calumenin protein (CP) is located within the endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ binding proteins. Calumenin as a suppressor of cell migration and tumor metastasis. Calumenin binds to and stabilizes fibulin-1, leading to inactivation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) signaling.

Biological Activity

Description

Calumenin Protein, Human (HEK293, His), a recombinant human Calumenin produced in HEK293 cells, has a His tag at the N-terminus. Calumenin protein (CP) is located within the endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ binding proteins. Calumenin as a suppressor of cell migration and tumor metastasis. Calumenin binds to and stabilizes fibulin-1, leading to inactivation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) signaling[1][2].

Background

Calumenin, belonging to the CREC protein family, is a multiple EF-hand Ca2+-binding protein, and has been found to have unique C-terminal SR retention signal HDEF. CP can combine with ryanodine receptor to active sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase (SERCA2a) to regulate the release of intracellular calcium, intake, and storage of calcium in order to maintain homeostasis of calcium cycling. CP can also relieve ERS of myocardial cells and suppress ERS-mediated apoptosis. CP can relieve ERS-initiated apoptosis in viral myocarditis[1].

Product Properties

Appearance

Lyophilized powder.

Formulation

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 20 mM PB,150 mM NaCl, pH 7.0.

Endotoxin Level

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).
