Biological Activity
CD98 Protein, Human (HEK293, hFc) is the recombinant human-derived CD98 protein, expressed by HEK293, with N-hFc tag.
CD98, a multifunctional protein, is predicted to possess amino acid transmembrane transporter activity and double-stranded RNA binding activity. Its involvement in carboxylic acid transport and viral entry into host cells, as well as its role upstream of response to exogenous dsRNA, highlights its diverse functions. CD98 is strategically located in the apical pole of neurons and is actively engaged in synaptic processes. Its expression spans various structures, including the alimentary system, brain, genitourinary system, hemolymphoid system gland, and spinal cord. The ubiquity of CD98 expression is evident in numerous tissues, such as the kidney, genital fat pad, and 28 other tissues, underscoring its importance in various physiological contexts. Elucidating the intricate roles of CD98 in transport, cellular entry, and synaptic function is essential for comprehending its contributions to cellular processes and potential implications in health and disease.
1.Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Human CD98, hFc Tag at 0.5 μg/ml (100 μl/well) on the plate can bind Biotinylated CD98 Antibody, hFc Tag. Test result was comparable to standard batch.
2.Immobilized Human CD98, hFc Tag at 2 μg/ml(100 μl/well) on the plate. Dose response curve for Biotinylated CD98 Antibody, hFc Tag with the ED50 of 17.7 ng/ml determined by ELISA.
