Biological Activity
Description
DAPK2 Protein, Human (sf9, His, GST) is the recombinant human-derived DAPK2, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with His, GST labeled tag.
Background
DAPK2 is a calcium/calmodulin-dependent serine/threonine kinase involved in multiple cellular signaling pathways regulating cell survival, apoptosis, and autophagy. It controls both caspase-dependent type I apoptotic signals and caspase-independent type II autophagic cell death signals (the latter characterized by autophagic vesicle accumulation), depending on cellular context. DAPK2 acts as a mediator of anoikis and suppresses beta-catenin-dependent anchorage-independent growth in malignant epithelial cells. It may also play a role in granulocytic maturation and regulates granulocytic motility by modulating cell spreading and polarization. by similar: Isoform 2 is not regulated by calmodulin, can phosphorylate MYL9, and induces membrane blebbing and autophagic cell death.
