FSTL5 Protein, Human (HEK293, His)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
FSTL5 is an extracellular matrix-secreted protein. FSTL5 promotes cell proliferation and survival by influencing the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in liver cancer and inhibits the progression of liver cancer by inducing Caspase-dependent apoptosis and regulating Bcl-2 family proteins. FSTL5 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived FSTL5 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Description
FSTL5 is an extracellular matrix-secreted protein. FSTL5 promotes cell proliferation and survival by influencing the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in liver cancer and inhibits the progression of liver cancer by inducing Caspase-dependent apoptosis and regulating Bcl-2 family proteins. FSTL5 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived FSTL5 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.
Background
FSTL5 is an extracellular matrix-secreted protein with a molecular structure similar to follicular listatin (FST). Follistatin-like (FSTL) family proteins are involved in cell migration, proliferation, differentiation and organ development. FST can bind to transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) family activating proteins to promote hepatocyte apoptosis and inhibit hepatocyte proliferation. FST can directly bind to TGF-β3 and inhibit EMT in mammary epithelial cells. Down-regulation of FSTL5 promotes cell proliferation and survival by influencing Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in liver cancer and inhibits liver cancer progression by inducing Caspase-dependent apoptosis and regulating Bcl-2 family proteins[1][2][3].
Verified Bioactivity
Measured by its ability to inhibit HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell survival. The ED50 for this effect is 3.201 μg/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 312.402 units/mg.
