Biological Activity
IGF2BP3 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived IGF2BP3 protein, expressed by E. coli, with N-6*His tag.
IGF2BP3 is an RNA-binding factor that recruits target transcripts to cytoplasmic protein-RNA complexes (mRNPs). This 'caging' of transcripts into mRNPs enables mRNA transport and transient storage. It also modulates the rate and location at which target transcripts encounter the translational machinery while shielding them from endonuclease attacks or microRNA-mediated degradation. IGF2BP3 preferentially binds N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-containing mRNAs, enhancing their stability. It binds the 3'-UTR of CD44 mRNA, stabilizing it and promoting cell adhesion and invadopodia formation in cancer cells. Additionally, IGF2BP3 binds beta-actin/ACTB and MYC transcripts, increasing MYC mRNA stability by interacting with its coding region instability determinant (CRD), with binding further enhanced by m6A modification of the CRD. by similar: It also binds the 5'-UTR of insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) mRNA.
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Human IGF2BP3, at 2μg/mL (100μL/well) can bind Anti- IGF2BP3 antibody. The ED50 for this effect is 0.1-0.5 μg/mL.
