Description

MCP-2/CCL8 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived MCP-2/CCL8 protein, expressed by E. coli, with N-His tag.

Background

MCP-2/CCL8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils, and eosinophils. It may play a role in neoplasia and inflammatory host responses. This protein can bind heparin. The processed form MCP-2(6-76) does not exhibit monocyte chemotactic activity but inhibits the chemotactic effect most predominantly of CCL7, as well as CCL2, CCL5, and CCL8. by similar: The protein shares functional similarities with other members of the chemokine family, but its processed form exhibits unique inhibitory effects.
