Description
Nucleocapsid Protein NTD domain, Virus (His) is the N-terminal RNA-binding domain (NTD) of nucleocapsid protein in coronaviruses. Nucleocapsid Protein NTD domain has highly conserved residues in the centre, which is identified as the RNA-binding site[1].
Background
Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses with a positive-sense RNA genomeand and has a nucleocapsid of helical symmetry. The Nucleocapsid Protein localize to the cytoplasm and the nucleolus in both virus-infected primary cells and in cells transfected with plasmids that express N protein[1].Nucleocapsid Protein is a basic protein and is abundant in coronaviruses, which has nonspecific binding activity toward nucleic acids, including ssRNA, ssDNA, and dsDNA. Nucleocapsid Protein is an essential RNA-binding viral protein in human coronavirus (CoV)-infected cells, is required for the replication and transcription of viral RNA. Nucleocapsid Protein NTD domain has highly conserved residues in the centre, which is identified as the RNA-binding site[2].
Verified Bioactivity
Immobilized Virus Nucleocapsid at 10 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Anti-Nucleocapsid Antibody. The ED50 for this effect is 2.927 μg/mL.
