Biological Activity
Description
omp1A Protein, other (His, SUMO) is the recombinant omp1A protein, expressed by E. coli, with N-SUMO & N-6*His tag.
Background
omp1A provides structural integrity to the outer envelope of Chlamydia elementary bodies (EBs, the infectious stage that survives outside host cells) by forming disulfide cross-links with small cysteine-rich proteins and large cysteine-rich periplasmic proteins. It has been described as the Sarkosyl-insoluble COMC (Chlamydia outer membrane complex) in publications and serves as the functional equivalent of peptidoglycan (By similarity).
