Description

omp1C Protein, other (His, Myc) is the recombinant omp1C protein, expressed by E. coli, with C-Myc & N-10*His tag.

Background

omp1C provides structural integrity to the outer envelope of Chlamydia's elementary bodies (EBs, the infectious stage that can survive outside host cells) through disulfide cross-links with small cysteine-rich proteins and large cysteine-rich periplasmic proteins. It has been described in publications as the Sarkosyl-insoluble COMC (Chlamydia outer membrane complex) and functionally resembles peptidoglycan (By similarity).
