Description

P2ER3 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived P2ER3, expressed by E.coli , with His abeled tag.

Background

P2ER3 is a receptor for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), coupling to both the inhibition of adenylate cyclase via G(i) proteins and the elevation of intracellular calcium. It is essential for fever development in response to pyrogens such as IL1B, PGE2, and bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Additionally, P2ER3 potentiates PGE2-induced platelet aggregation, contributing to blood coagulation regulation. In the duodenum, it mediates increased HCO3(-) secretion upon mucosal acidification, protecting against acid-induced ulceration. By similarity, P2ER3 is not required for normal kidney function, urine volume, or osmolality.
