Description

PDE4D (Phosphodiesterase 4D) protein, as a hydrolytic enzyme, degrades the second messenger cAMP, a crucial regulator in various physiological processes. Its enzymatic activity in breaking down cAMP underscores PDE4D's pivotal role in modulating cellular signaling cascades, maintaining the intricate balance of intracellular communication mediated by this critical second messenger. PDE4D Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived PDE4D protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His labeled tag.

Background

PDE4D (Phosphodiesterase 4D) protein functions as a hydrolytic enzyme responsible for the degradation of the second messenger cAMP. This molecule, cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), serves as a crucial regulator in numerous essential physiological processes. PDE4D's enzymatic activity in breaking down cAMP underscores its pivotal role in modulating cellular signaling cascades and maintaining the intricate balance of intracellular communication mediated by this critical second messenger.

Verified Bioactivity

The PDE4D protein activity was detected using the AMP-Glo™ Assay method. With 10μM cAMP as the substrate, tests were conducted on PDE4D at different concentration gradients. The results showed that after 60 minutes of reaction, the substrate conversion rate exhibited a linear relationship within the range of 0.3nM PDE4D concentration. Specifically, when the enzyme concentration used was 0.1nM, the conversion rate could reach 20% after 60 minutes of reaction.
