Biological Activity
PRMT2 Protein, Human (sf9, Flag) is the recombinant human-derived PRMT2, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-Flag labeled tag. ,
PRMT2 is an arginine methyltransferase that methylates the guanidino nitrogens of arginyl residues in proteins such as STAT3, FBL, and histone H4. It acts as a coactivator (with NCOA2) for androgen receptor (AR)-mediated transactivation and (with estrogen) for estrogen receptor (ER)-mediated transactivation. PRMT2 enhances PGR, PPARG, and RARA-mediated transactivation, may inhibit NF-kappa-B transcription, and promotes apoptosis. It represses E2F1 transcriptional activity in an RB1-dependent manner and may be involved in growth regulation.
