PVR/CD155 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His)

Customer Review

Based on 1 Customer Validation

The PVR/CD155 protein, encoded by the PVR gene, acts as a receptor for poliovirus. It is involved in the regulation of heterophilic and homophilic cell adhesion, as well as leukocyte-mediated cytotoxicity. PVR/CD155 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is the recombinant rat-derived PVR/CD155 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Biological Activity

Description

The PVR/CD155 protein, encoded by the PVR gene, acts as a receptor for poliovirus. It is involved in the regulation of heterophilic and homophilic cell adhesion, as well as leukocyte-mediated cytotoxicity. PVR/CD155 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is the recombinant rat-derived PVR/CD155 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Background

The PVR gene encodes the poliovirus receptor (PVR), also known as CD155, which functions as a virus receptor. PVR is predicted to be involved in heterophilic cell-cell adhesion via plasma membrane cell adhesion molecules, homophilic cell adhesion via plasma membrane adhesion molecules, and positive regulation of leukocyte-mediated cytotoxicity. It is anticipated to act upstream of or within processes such as cell migration and cell-cell adhesion, and is predicted to be located in the cell surface and plasma membrane, serving as an integral component of the membrane with activity in adherens junctions. The orthologous counterpart in humans is PVR (PVR cell adhesion molecule). With biased expression observed in the lung (RPKM 65.2), heart (RPKM 42.8), and nine other tissues, PVR/CD155 plays a vital role in mediating cell adhesion and potentially influencing immune responses.

Verified Bioactivity

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized rat PVR/CD155 at 20 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Rat DNAM-1/CD226. The ED50 for this effect is 796.7 ng/mL.

Product Properties

Appearance

Lyophilized powder.

Formulation

Lyophilized from a 0.22 μm filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4.

Endotoxin Level

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).
