In its active state, RAB27B engages with a diverse set of effector proteins, contributing to the coordination of endosomal positioning, maturation, and secretion processes. Notably, it plays a crucial role in facilitating the axonal anterograde transport of NTRK2/TRKB by promoting the association of NTRK2/TRKB with KLC1. Additionally, RAB27B may participate in the targeting of uroplakins to urothelial apical membranes, suggesting its involvement in specialized membrane trafficking events.
