SMOC1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
SMOC1 Protein is a matricellular protein that interferes with growth factor receptor signalling. SMOC1 Protein plays essential roles in both eye and limb development and is a regulator of osteoblast differentiation. SMOC1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived SMOC1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-8*His labeled tag.
- Species: Human
- Source: HEK293

Description
SMOC1 Protein is a matricellular protein that interferes with growth factor receptor signalling. SMOC1 Protein plays essential roles in both eye and limb development and is a regulator of osteoblast differentiation. SMOC1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived SMOC1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-8*His labeled tag.
Background
SMOC1 Protein is a matricellular protein that interferes with growth factor receptor signalling. SMOC1 Protein plays essential roles in both eye and limb development and is a regulator of osteoblast differentiation. SMOC1 encodes a multi-domain secreted protein that may have a critical role in ocular and limb development. Mutations in this gene are associated with microphthalmia and limb anomalies[1][2].
Verified Bioactivity
Measured by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of A431 human epithelial carcinoma cells. When 5 x 104 cells/well are added to rhSMOC-1 coated plates, cell adhesion is enhanced in a dose dependent manner after 75 minutes at 37°C. The ED50 for this effect is 0.5-1.5 μg/mL.

Product Properties
Lyophilized powder
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 20 mM PB, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.4.
<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.
It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).
Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.
Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.
