Biological Activity

Description

SOS1 Protein, Human (Active, sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived SOS1 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells, with N-His tag.

Background

SOS1 promotes the exchange of Ras-bound GDP by GTP (PubMed:8493579). It likely regulates the phosphorylation of MAP kinase MAPK3/ERK1 in response to EGF by promoting Ras activation (PubMed:17339331). Additionally, SOS1 serves as the catalytic component of a trimeric complex involved in signal transduction from Ras to Rac by enhancing the guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) activity specific to Rac (By similarity).
