Biological Activity
SOX17 Protein, Human is the recombinant human-derived SOX17, expressed by E. coli , with tag Free labeled tag. ,
SOX17 is a transcription regulator that binds target promoter DNA and bends the DNA, recognizing sequences 5'-AACAAT-3' or 5'-AACAAAG-3'. It modulates transcriptional regulation via WNT3A, inhibits Wnt signaling, and promotes degradation of activated CTNNB1. SOX17 plays a key role in embryonic development, including the formation of definitive gut endoderm and proper looping of the embryonic heart tube. It is also essential for embryonic and postnatal vascular development, such as artery formation, and exhibits functional redundancy with SOX18 in postnatal angiogenesis. Additionally, SOX17 is required for the generation and maintenance of fetal hematopoietic stem cells and fetal hematopoiesis. It may act as a transcriptional activator in premeiotic germ cells.
