SPINK1 Protein, Mouse (P.pastoris, His)

SPINK1 is a serine protease inhibitor that significantly inhibits trypsin, especially in the pancreas, preventing premature activation of the zymogen. In the male reproductive tract, SPINK1 binds to sperm heads and regulates sperm volume by inhibiting calcium absorption and nitrogen oxide (NO) production. SPINK1 Protein, Mouse (P.pastoris, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived SPINK1 protein, expressed by P. pastoris , with N-6*His labeled tag.

SPINK1, a serine protease inhibitor, functions as an anti-trypsin agent, exhibiting inhibitory activity against trypsin. Particularly crucial in the pancreas, SPINK1 serves as a protective factor preventing the premature activation of zymogens catalyzed by trypsin. Beyond its pancreatic role, SPINK1 plays a distinctive function in the male reproductive tract, where it binds to sperm heads. In this context, it modulates sperm capacitance by inhibiting calcium uptake and nitrogen oxide (NO) production.
