Description

The TLR3 protein is a key Toll-like receptor family member that plays an important role in the innate immune system's recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns, especially viral double-stranded RNA. Its research enhances understanding of immune responses and provides potential applications for vaccine development and antiviral treatments. TLR3 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived TLR3 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag. The total length of TLR3 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is 681 a.a., with molecular weight of 90-130 kDa.

Background

The TLR3 Protein is a pivotal member of the Toll-like receptor family, signifying its essential role in the innate immune system's recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns. As part of this family, TLR3 likely shares conserved structural and functional features with related receptors, emphasizing its involvement in detecting viral double-stranded RNA. The classification within the Toll-like receptor family underscores its specific designation within the broader context of pattern recognition receptors, providing insights into its unique contributions to immune responses. The study of TLR3 contributes to our understanding of its role in host defense against viral infections, offering potential applications in vaccine development and antiviral therapies. Further exploration of TLR3's role holds promise for enhancing our knowledge of its contributions to both normal immune surveillance and pathological conditions.

Biological Activity

1.Immobilized Human TLR3 at 0.5 μg/mL (100μL/Well) on the plate. Dose response curve for Anti-TLR3 Antibody with the EC50 < 13.6 ng/mL determined by ELISA.
2.Measured by its ability to inhibit poly I:C induced IL-8 secretion by HEK293 human embryonic kidney cells transfected with TLR3. The ED50 for this effect is 4.109 µg/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 243.368 U/mg in the presence of 0.2 µg/mL of poly I:C.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
