Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Salvianolic acid L ((-)-Salvianolic acid L) (compound 27) (incubated for 60 min) is identified in Salvia miltiorrhiza root extract and Compound Danshen Tablets by HPLC-DAD and LC-MSn. It has a retention time of 34.95 min, characteristic mass spectral fragments, and a maximum ultraviolet absorption wavelength of 288 nm[1].
Salvianolic acid L (compound 1) scavenges superoxide anion radicals generated by the xanthine/xanthine oxidase system, with an SOD-equivalent activity of 300 units/mg[2].
