1,3,5,8-Tetrahydroxyxanthone (Desmethylbellidifolin) is a natural xanthone extracted from Swertia chirata. 1,3,5,8-Tetrahydroxyxanthone has antispasmodic effect and anti-inflammatory activity[1].

In Vitro

1,3,5,8-Tetrahydroxyxanthone (Desmethylbellidifolin) attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide release and proinflammatory cytokine expression in RAW264.7 cells[1].
