2-Oxoaldehyde dehydrogenase (NAD+) (EC 1.2.1.23) is an NADP+-dependent glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; it belongs to the class of oxidoreductases that act on aldehyde or oxo groups. 2-Oxoaldehyde dehydrogenase (NAD+) catalyzes the oxidation and phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G3P) to produce 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate (1,3-BPG), while simultaneously generating NADPH.
