3,7,11-Trimethyl-1-dodecanol (compound 5) (coating concentration 80 μg/cm2; oviposition observation duration 4 nights) disrupts the olfactory chemical recognition process of gravid female Ostrinia nubilalis, significantly reduces the number of egg masses on the compound-coated substrate, and exhibits an overall oviposition repellent effect with an oviposition index OI = -0.152[2].
