Biological Activity
The structure of PEG-Vinyl sulfon comprises two key parts that work synergistically:
Vinyl sulfon group: This group can undergo a Michael addition reaction with free thiol groups on peptides and proteins to form a very stable thioether bond.
PEG chain: Acting as a hydrophilic spacer, it forms a hydration layer on the particle surface, reducing non-specific adsorption and immune system recognition and clearance, thus prolonging the carrier's circulation time in vivo.
