5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol is a phenolic regioisomer. 5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol produces dose-dependent antinociception in the mouse formalin test, with its second-phase effect being mechanistically dependent on both FAAH and TRPV1. 5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol can be used for antinociception research.

Biological Activity
5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol (compound 2) is conjugated by FAAH in greater amounts, albeit less efficiently and in lesser amounts than 4-Aminopyridine (HY-B0604) in brain homogenate from FAAH+/+ mice[1].

Result:Produces dose-dependent antinociception in both phases of the formalin test.
Its antinociceptive effect was inhibited by FAAH inhibitor URB937 (HY-116477) and TRPV1 antagonist Capsazepine (HY-15640) during the second, but not the first , phase of the formalin test at 50 mg/kg dose.
Did not affect locomotor activity in mice at 75 mg/kg.
